Give the Gift of Energy Savings

Whether you are finishing up your shopping list, just getting started or picking up a little something for yourself, Idaho Power has some ideas to give the gift of energy savings:

  • Go high-tech at home with a smart thermostat. And don’t forgot to check out Idaho Power’s $75 incentive for those who qualify: idahopower.com/heatingcooling.
  • Decorate with LED holiday lights, inflatables and outdoor timers to brighten the holidays year after year.
  • Keep your loved ones warm with sweaters, blankets or other cozy accessories. Turning down the thermostat just one degree in the winter saves about 3% on heating costs.
  • Upgrade a home office with a new laptop or tablet, which uses much less energy than a desktop computer.
  • Grow into savings with a gift certificate to a local nursery to buy a shade tree this spring.
  • Cook up some savings by gifting glass or ceramic cookware, which allows you to bake at a temperature 25 degrees lower than the recipe recommends.
  • Make someone’s meal prep a breeze with a new slow cooker, pressure cooker, toaster oven or air fryer.

Small appliances are a great gift idea. They can make dinnertime easier and get the job done using less energy. From now until Dec. 16, Idaho Power is running a contest where five lucky winners will receive a kitchen gadget bundle that includes an electric tea kettle, pressure cooker, air fryer and smart coffee maker.

To enter, share how you stay warm and save energy in the winter on the form at idahopower.com/kitchengadgets or on Idaho Power’s contest posts on Facebook or Twitter.
