Day use at all Idaho Power parks and recreation sites is free.
Reservations are highly recommended to ensure a campsite is available in the park you desire. Fees are charged for overnight camping. Reservations can be made up to nine months in advance, year-round and must be made prior to 10 a.m. MDT on your arrival date. There is a non-refundable fee for making a reservation online or by phone. The administration fees apply for each site.
Hells Canyon Campgrounds
The Hells Canyon area contains four developed campgrounds. These campgrounds have water, 30-amp electric hookups, flush toilets and showers.
Carters Landing is a semi-developed campground also located in the Hells Canyon area. It’s a first-come, first-served park and camping fees must be paid at the park’s fee station. It has a vault toilet and picnic tables but no water or electric hookups.

C.J. Strike Campgrounds
Electricity is not available at any C.J. Strike campground. Flush toilets are available at North Park and Scout Park. Locust park is a first-come, first-served park. Fees for camping at Locust Park must be paid at the park’s fee station.

Note: All fees are subject to state taxes. For Idaho campgrounds, a state liability tax of 6% and a state lodging tax of 2% for a total of 8% will be applied. For Copperfield and Carters Landing campgrounds, a Baker County liability tax of 7% and a State of Oregon liability tax of 1.8% for a total of 8.8% will be applied.
Idaho Power offers reduced fees for campers with a service-connected disability and seniors 60 and over. Overnight camping fees are reduced by 50% for campers with a service-connected disability. Seniors receive a $2 per night discount. Combined discounts are not allowed.
A maximum of five sites can be reserved at one time. The reservation fee ($10 online, $15 by phone) will be applied for each site.
Day-Use Picnic Shelters
Idaho Power has several day-use picnic shelters that can be reserved for weddings, family gatherings and special events. Reservations can be made up to nine months in advance, year-round and must be made prior to 10 a.m. MDT on your arrival date.

Changes to confirmed campsite or picnic shelter reservations can be made by calling 844-472-7275. There is a $10 fee to make any changes to a confirmed reservation.
Campers with a CampLife account can cancel campsite or picnic shelter reservations online by logging in to their account. Customers without a CampLife account must call 844-472-7275 to cancel. A cancellation fee of $10 will apply. The reservation fees ($10 per campsite online; $15 per campsite by phone; $25 for picnic shelter) are non-refundable. In addition:
- Reservations cancelled more than 48 hours before the arrival day may qualify for a refund. Please note: The reservation fee is non-refundable, and a $10 cancellation fee will apply. You may send an email to email@example.com, or call to request a refund.
- Reservations cancelled within 48 hours of the arrival date will forfeit the camping fees for the first night in addition to the reservation fee. A $10 cancellation fee will apply.
- Reservations not cancelled by 1 p.m. MDT of the second day of the reservation will be considered no-shows and all fees (campsite and reservation) will be forfeited.
