Fees, Changes and Cancellations

Day use at all Idaho Power parks and recreation sites is free.

Campsites

Reservations are highly recommended to ensure a campsite is available in the park you desire. Fees are charged for overnight camping. No same-day reservations are allowed. There is a non-refundable fee for making a reservation online or by phone. The administration fees apply for each site.

Hells Canyon Campgrounds

The Hells Canyon area contains four developed campgrounds. These campgrounds have water and 30-amp electric hookups.

Carters Landing is a semi-developed campground also located in the Hells Canyon area. It’s a first-come, first-served park and camping fees must be paid at the park’s fee station. It has a vault toilet and picnic tables but no water or electric hookups.

C.J. Strike Campgrounds

Electricity is not available at any C.J. Strike campground. Locust park is a first-come, first-served park. Fees for camping at Locust Park must be paid at the park’s fee station using a credit card. No cash payments will be accepted.

Note: All fees are subject to state taxes. For Idaho campgrounds, a state liability tax of 6% and a state lodging tax of 2% for a total of 8% will be applied. For Copperfield and Carters Landing campgrounds, a Baker County liability tax of 7% and a State of Oregon liability tax of 1.5% for a total of 8.5% will be applied. Taxes will be calculated at the time of payment when reserving online. Taxes are already included in cash payments.

Discounts

Overnight camping fees are reduced for active-duty military and veterans by $8 at parks in Hells Canyon and $5 at C.J. Strike campgrounds. Campers over age 60 receive a $5 per night discount at Hells Canyon locations and $3 at C.J. Strike. Discounts cannot be combined, and are only available if paying with a credit card online or at a campground kiosk.

Group Reservations

A maximum of five sites can be reserved at one time. The reservation fee ($7 online, $15 by phone) will be applied for each site.

Day-Use Picnic Shelters

Idaho Power has several day-use picnic shelters that can be reserved for weddings, family gatherings and special events. Reservations can be made up to nine months in advance, year-round and must be made prior to 10 a.m. MT on your arrival date.

Changes

Changes to confirmed campsite or picnic shelter reservations can be made by calling 844-472-7275. There is a $10 fee to make any changes to a confirmed reservation.

Cancellations

Campground cancellation fees are intended to encourage users to cancel reservations as soon as possible before their scheduled arrival date so others may reserve and use unoccupied sites. All fees are nonrefundable, including the reservation fee ($7 for online reservations or $15 for reservations made through the reservation call center), and any reservation modification and cancellation fees ($10). Campers with a CampLife account can cancel campsite or picnic shelter reservations online by logging in to their account. Customers without a CampLife account must call 844-472-7275 to cancel.
A cancellation fee of $10 will apply. The reservation fees ($7 per campsite online; $15 per campsite by phone; $25 for picnic shelter) are nonrefundable.
Additional cancellation policies:

  • If a reservation is canceled 14 days or more prior to the scheduled arrival date, the camping fee will be refunded minus a $10 cancellation charge.
  • If a reservation is canceled 13 days or less prior to the arrival date, the camping fee will be refunded minus a $10 cancellation charge and the first night’s camping fee.
  • Idaho Power does not issue refunds for acts of nature, including, but not limited to: weather, smoke due to wildfire, insects, or algae blooms.
  • To receive a refund for early departures, campers must cancel online or with the camp host. Idaho Power will issue a refund for the remaining days left on their reservation minus a $10 cancellation fee. Idaho Power will not issue refunds for campers who leave and do not contact the camp host. Early departures before 1 p.m. Mountain Time are entitled to a refund of that night’s camping fee. Early departures after 1 p.m. Mountain Time will not receive a refund for that night’s camping fee.
