Idaho Power Invites Customers to Outage Preparedness and Wildfire Prevention Events

Idaho Power will participate in a variety of public events this spring across its service area and host meetings, including virtual options, to share information with customers about outage preparedness, safety, and wildfire prevention, including public safety power shutoffs (PSPS).

Idaho Power keeps the lights on 99.9% of the time, but extreme weather or wildfires can lead to extended outages. It’s important for customers to prepare for their needs in case they are affected by an outage.

At the events, attendees can talk with Idaho Power experts about a variety of topics, including:

  • Outage preparedness — How to plan for your unique needs
  • Wildfire prevention efforts — What Idaho Power is doing to strengthen the grid and keep communities safe
  • Public safety power shutoffs (PSPS) — Proactive outages to help prevent fire during extreme weather
  • Account and alert tools — Resources like Idaho Power’s mobile app and outage alerts to help customers stay informed

Most events will take place between mid-April and mid-June. Idaho Power will participate at a few summer-long events like weekly farmers markets. Visit idahopower.com/communitymeetings to find times and locations of events near you. The company will also host virtual meetings tailored for customers in specific regions, Spanish-speaking customers, and customers with special medical needs, mobility limitations, or disabilities. More information on these meetings is on the company’s website.
