In recognition of the ties Idaho Power employees share with their communities, the company has established a “Power of Community Day” event. This emerging tradition continues this week, when dozens of employees and family members will lend some Volunteer Power to neighbors and local organizations. This work will include:
Wednesday, May 21:
- Packing food boxes for South Central Community Action Partnership in Twin Falls (9–11 a.m.).
Thursday, May 22:
- Applying new landscape mulch at City Light Shelter in Boise (1–3 p.m.).
- Beautifying Restlawn Cemetery in Pocatello for Memorial Day (2–4 p.m.).
- Boxing food for families in need at the Idaho Foodbank in Meridian (3–5 p.m.).
- Helping maintain the grounds at MK Nature Center in Boise (3–5 p.m.).
- Cleaning up Idaho Power’s Adopt a Highway Stretch of Bogus Basin Road (3:30–5:30 p.m.).
- Performing landscaping and gardening work at Global Gardens in Boise (3:30–5:30 p.m.)
Media members are welcome to attend these events and get footage and interviews. If you plan to attend, please email Jordan Rodriguez (contact info below) to coordinate timing and details.
