Four-Year Old Wins Idaho Power Safety Contest

Congratulations to 4-year old Vivian Long of Star, winner of Idaho Power’s firework safety coloring contest. The contest was held throughout June to promote fire safety and teach kids the importance of staying safe near fireworks. Vivian added a bucket of water and hose to her coloring sheet as reminders to always keep water nearby when using fireworks.

With help from advocates like Vivian, Idaho Power wants to remind customers that preventing fires, particularly wildfires this time of year, helps prevent power outages. Should outages from wildfires occur, the company recommends having an outage kit prepared in advance. Kids can help gather items for the kit, like bottled water and non-perishable food. For a full list of recommended items and other tips on what to do if the power goes out, visit idahopower.com/outagetips.

We hope Vivian has fun with her prize — a basket of summer toys — and continues to spread the reminder of preventing fires and keeping safety first!
