Swan Falls Tour Guidelines and Information

  • Tours must be scheduled and are available between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

  • One week advance notice is required. For groups of over 30, one month advance notice is required.

  • For tours with more than 12 people, groups need to arrive with pre-planned smaller groups, each with a maximum of 12 people, including a chaperone if children are attending the tour.

  • No tours are available to children under the age of five, unless carried by an adult.

  • Names and addresses of adults expected to attend the tour must be emailed to the office of the Regional Manager at least one week prior to the scheduled tour date.

  • Maintenance of the power plant, security threat-level changes, or other projects may cause the cancellation or rescheduling of tours.

  • Travel from the nearest town of Kuna, Idaho will take approximately 30 minutes each way. Swan Falls is 19 miles south of Kuna.

  • A self-guided tour through the museum using the interpretive material will take approximately 30 to 45 minutes for each group, depending upon the interest level and number of questions asked by the group. Numerous pieces of historical power plant equipment are displayed, and access to one of the turbines is available (access to the bottom of the turbine is by stairway).

  • The museum is also open to the public from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. every Saturday from April 15 to Labor Day.

  • No gasoline or other services are available at the Swan Falls power plant. Any needed gasoline or services should to be purchased prior to coming to Swan Falls.

  • Swan Falls Park is a day-use only facility.
