Water Safety: Eagle Scout, Idaho Power Team Up to Provide Life Jackets

A Meridian Eagle Scout’s project is bringing water safety to a popular Snake River park in the Magic Valley.

Logan Crawford, along with his parents, brothers and other Boy Scouts, partnered with Idaho Power to install a life-jacket loaner station near the boat ramp at Twin Falls Park. The station provides free access to flotation vests that can be used by adults and children while boating or playing near the water and then returned for the next visitors.

The loaner station is one of six that Idaho Power has installed at the company’s parks in conjunction with the Idaho Department of Parks and Recreation, which provides the life jackets. Eagle Scouts have helped to install several of the stations, which underscore Idaho Power’s commitment to safe enjoyment of the Snake River.

Twin Falls Park is a 10-acre day-use park popular with families and boaters launching into the Snake River above the Twin Falls hydroelectric project.
