Power poles are an essential part of Idaho Power’s electrical grid. The company uses thousands of wooden power poles across its 24,000 square-mile service area, which extends from southeastern Idaho to eastern Oregon. But how does a power pole come to be?
Each pole in Idaho Power’s grid embarks on a long journey — usually, from the forests of western Washington to a decades-long stay providing reliable, affordable energy to Idaho Power’s customers.
This process is the subject of a recent Idaho Power video available on the company’s YouTube channel, youtube.com/idahopower.
Media note: In addition to use of the video, there are photos, statistics and interview opportunities available by request.
