Used Boat from Idaho Power Will Help Malheur County Sheriff’s Department

Idaho Power recently donated a boat to the Malheur County Sheriff’s Department that will help with search and rescue operations, patrols and other work on the Snake River.

Law enforcement will use the 18-foot Duckworth open-bow sled, with a trailer and a 115-horsepower motor, on the 70-mile stretch of the Snake River in Malheur County, said Marine Deputy Wade Holom.

Holom and Malheur County Sheriff Brian Wolfe recently traveled to Boise to pick up the boat, which previously supported fishery research and logistics for Idaho Power’s Snake River Stewardship Program. Idaho Power occasionally donates retired equipment to public service agencies in the company’s service area.
