Students Get First-hand Look at STEM Careers at Swan Falls Dam Event

An innovative partnership between Idaho Power, Power Engineers and the College of Western Idaho brought students to Swan Falls Dam this week for an up-close look at potential careers involving drones, raptors, hydroelectric equipment and more.

It was all part of a collaboration to bring potential STEM careers into focus for these students in a setting that provides a historical backdrop and modern energy equipment. The students also got a visit from Slim, the golden eagle. Idaho Power and Power Engineers employees both work on equipment and projects to help prevent raptors from coming into contact with electrical equipment.
