Watching sage grouse during their mating ritual is an unforgettable experience. Idaho Power works to avoid impacts to these magnificent birds when siting and building power lines near the areas where they live.
Idaho Power biologist Aaron Utz has been watching these birds since he was a boy, and he takes a special interest in their habits and their rangeland habitat. “They are an indicator of habitat that’s still in decent shape on rangeland,” Utz said.
This short video from Idaho Power takes an up-close look at these unique desert-dwelling birds and how Idaho Power works with state and federal agencies to protect their habitat.
