Newspaper readers across the country will see an ad this weekend (April 27-28) thanking Idaho Power and other companies for their tree-planting efforts. The Arbor Day Foundation, a nationwide nonprofit with more than 1 million members, bought an ad in USA Today’s weekend edition thanking Idaho Power and other corporate partners for taking part in Time for Trees, a drive to plant 100 million trees by 2022.
The foundation’s recognition of Idaho Power follows years of the company’s efforts to plant trees for shade. Since 2013, through the Shade Tree Project, Idaho Power has provided customers more than 11,000 trees to shade their homes and keep power bills low in the summer.
Idaho Power’s website offers guidance how to choose the right tree and the best location for planting, at idahopower.com/trees.
