Idaho Power customers looking to save energy and money can apply for a home energy audit to improve the efficiency, comfort and health of their home.
After the audit is complete, customers will learn where their home may be losing energy, simple fixes that can improve efficiency and how to implement any needed improvements.
In Idaho, existing site-built homes, including single family, duplexes, triplexes and four-plexes, qualify for this program.
Costs for the audit and improvements are offered at a discount. The total value of the audit is $445, but participants pay only $99 for all-electric homes and $149 for gas, propane or other fuel sourced homes. Find details at idahopower.com/save.
Oregon homes heated primarily with electricity from Idaho Power are eligible for a free energy audit. Homeowners who qualify for an Idaho Power audit may also be eligible for a cash incentive.
Weatherization saves energy and makes it less expensive to heat your home in the winter and cool in the summer. Examples include:
- Caulking or weather stripping
- Ceiling, floor or wall insulation
- Vapor barrier materials
- Timed thermostats
- Insulation of heating ducts, hot water pipes and water heaters
- Storm doors and windows
- Replacement of single-paned windows
