This form is for requesting the transfer of excess energy credits from an on-site generation meter to a separate meter. If you do not meet the eligibility requirements, or do not wish to transfer credits, you do not need to fill out this form. Your credits will stay with your current meter as long as your service remains active for the net meter.
To be eligible for a credit transfer:
- You must have a kilowatt-hour (kWh) credit balance. Check your balance on your most recent bill in My Account. The following example bill shows where to find the Meter Number and Excess Energy Credit Balance.
- Meters must serve the same customer listed on the account credits are being transferred to and from, and energy supplied by the meters must be for the customer’s own use.
- Service agreements must be on the same contiguous property. Idaho Power will also verify the meters are served by the same primary feeder as the customer generation service agreements.
- Transfers can only occur between Residential and Small General Service accounts (Schedules 1, 6, 7, and 8) or between Large Commercial, Large Power, and Irrigation accounts (Schedules 9, 19, 24 and 84). Time-of-Day (Schedule 5) accounts are not eligible to receive credits.
A $10 fee will be charged for each meter receiving transferred credits. Fees will be applied to the bill of the on-site generation service at the time the transfer is completed by Idaho Power.
Forms must be received by Idaho Power by midnight, Mountain Standard Time, Jan. 31, 2024. Idaho Power will review eligibility and apply approved transfers to customer bills by March 31, 2024.
Transfers will be based on the excess energy credit available at the time of transfer.
