“Energy for Growth” Marketing Grants

Idaho Power is committed to working to drive economic growth, create jobs and enhance the quality of life in the communities it serves. Through “Energy for Growth” marketing grants, Idaho Power provides financial support to economic development organizations for strategic planning, marketing activities and prospecting campaigns. Provided they meet the criteria included in, and comply with, the Terms and Conditions, all nonprofit organizations engaged in economic development serving communities in Idaho Power’s service area are qualified to submit applications.

Qualifying Marketing Activities

The following types of activities are eligible for financial reimbursement. Other innovative programs will also be considered. Qualifying economic development organizations may apply for grants in multiple categories:

  • Strategic marketing campaigns or initiatives
  • Prospecting, including prospect research, prospecting initiatives, and prospect management
  • Certified Economic Developer (CEcD) registration and examination
  • Website development or redesign
  • Prospect program building with site selectors and real estate executives

Note: All projects must incorporate the Idaho Power logo. Contact Krista West for electronic versions of the logo and details on the branding approval process.

Application Process

Organizations should submit a written application to their Idaho Power Community Relations Representative (CRR) by the March 15 application deadline. The CRR will advise the applicant of Idaho Power’s decision regarding the grant request on or around March 30. Idaho Power’s contribution, if approved, shall not exceed the lesser of (a) 50 percent of actual cost of the campaign or (b) $3,000 per project per participating organization, and will be subject to the availability of funds. Idaho Power retains discretion as to the amount provided, but in no case will it exceed 50 percent of the program cost. Goods and services that are donated, and items that are otherwise provided as in-kind contributions, are not eligible for consideration for, and shall be disregarded in the calculation of, the project cost for purposes of determining the project contributions and grant amount. Acceptance of applications will be in Idaho Power’s sole discretion. After Idaho Power has selected the successful applicants, the CRRs will promptly advise applicants of Idaho Power’s decision regarding approval or non-approval of their application.
