Idaho Power is proposing to replace all existing area light and flood light fixtures with LED (light-emitting diode) fixtures.
On May 24, 2019, Idaho Power filed a request with the Idaho Public Utilities Commission (IPUC) to replace existing high-pressure sodium and metal halide lights with LED fixtures. LED lights are cleaner, will provide better lighting quality and require less maintenance.
If approved as proposed, the project would begin in fall 2019 and would take about four years to complete. Idaho Power proposes changing out lights on its regular four-year maintenance schedule.
