Idaho Power employees and members of a public advisory council will meet Thursday, Sept. 10, to discuss key elements that will drive the utility’s 20-year energy plan. It will be the first monthly meeting of the company’s 2027 Integrated Resource Plan Advisory Council (IRPAC). The company produces an Integrated Resource Plan (IRP) every two years and intends to submit its 2027 plan to regulators in June.

The virtual IRPAC meetings are open to the public. Thursday’s meeting will provide an overview of the process and a recap of the 2025 IRP. Updates about the company’s resource acquisition process, the proposed sale of Idaho Power’s Oregon service area, and a look at the past summer’s energy use are also on the agenda.

The IRPAC is a volunteer panel that will meet with Idaho Power staff several times over a period of months to discuss the 2027 Integrated Resource Plan, which will lay out the company’s preferred portfolio of energy resources to serve customers over the next 20 years. The IRPAC includes representatives from public-interest groups, industry, and agriculture, as well as state and local lawmakers, public utility commission staff, and other interested parties. The advisory council provides public input and feedback that assists the company in the creation of the 2027 IRP.
