Emergency Utility Assistance Available for Idaho Renters

Emergency assistance to help pay utility bills or rent is available for Idaho renters impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Depending on a household’s circumstances, up to 15 months of assistance may be available for Idaho renters who earn less than 80% of the area median income.

Applicants must be renters who owe past-due rent or utilities or are unable to pay upcoming rent or utilities because of COVID-19 impacts.

Outside Ada County, the program is administered by the Idaho Housing and Finance Association. To check eligibility, or for more information, go to idahohousing.com/hpp/ or call
1-855-452-0801.

Within Ada County, the program is administered by the Boise City/Ada County Housing Authorities. To learn more, visit their website at erap.bcacha.org.

Emergency assistance for each program runs until Sept. 30, 2022. For energy assistance information or to discuss payment arrangement options, contact Idaho Power’s Customer Care Team at 208-388-2323 or 1-800-488-6151.
