Oregon Solar Applications Accepted April 1
BOISE, Idaho -- Idaho Power will accept new online applications for the Oregon Solar Photovoltaic Pilot Program beginning April 1. This is the continuation of a pilot program created by the Oregon legislature mandating the development of pilot programs by electric utilities operating in the state.
At 8 a.m. Mountain Daylight Time on April 1, Idaho Power will take online applications on a first-come, first-served basis until the remaining allotment of approximately 80 kilowatts (kW) of installed solar photovoltaic (PV) capacity has been reserved. Additional information, including an interconnection application, energy sales agreement and process details, can be found on the Idaho Power website, www.idahopower.com/oregonsolar.
Idaho Power customers with service in Oregon are eligible. Systems may not be larger than 10 kW and must be sized based on the customer’s annual use.
In 2009, the Oregon legislature passed ORS 757.365(1) as amended by House Bill 3690, which mandates the development of pilot programs for each electric company operating in Oregon to demonstrate the use and effectiveness of volumetric incentive rates (VIR) and payments for electricity delivered by solar PV systems.
