Home Performance Specialist Information

In order to participate in Idaho Power’s Home Energy Audit program, Home Performance Specialists (HPS) must be approved by Idaho Power and have either BPI or RESNET certifications or their equivalent. In addition, they must attend a training class and uphold the Home Energy Audit Program’s performance standards.

If you’re interested in becoming a Participating HPS, contact Becky Arte-Howell . Available positions are currently full, and interested parties will be kept on a waitlist for possible future openings.

There are instances which will render an HPS ineligible to participate. This includes, but is not limited to, the following:

  • HPS who have been removed from other Idaho Power Energy Efficiency programs.
  • HPS who have been removed from other regional utility weatherization programs.
  • HPS from whom Idaho Power has received a high number of customer complaints due to poor business practices or poor work quality.
  • HPS who lead customers to believe they work for or represent Idaho Power.
  • HPS who communicate negative comments to customers about Idaho Power or the Home Energy Audit program.
  • HPS who repeatedly fail the QA process, or who refuse to rectify errors.
