‘Sonny Claus’ brings holiday cheer to local deaf children

Idaho Power biologist and local holiday favorite Sonny Cabbage will make his annual “Sonny Claus” visit to Treasure Valley deaf children this Thursday, Dec. 21, at Ponderosa Elementary in Meridian. Cabbage, who is deaf, volunteers his time as Santa on behalf of Idaho Educational Services for the Deaf and Blind. He will visit with local deaf children and listen to their Christmas wishes via sign language from 10–11:15 a.m. and 1:15–2:30 p.m.

Sonny Claus has been visiting local schoolchildren for more than 20 years. Watch one of Sonny’s visits from one of his visits on the Idaho Power YouTube channel. Media members interested in attending and/or setting up an interview with Sonny are encouraged to contact Idaho Power in advance at the number below.
