Our Educational Resource Guide describes the videos and educational kits in our loan library that are part of Idaho Power’s Education Program. Topics include electrical safety, generation and conservation, among others.

Educators can use our Educational Resource Online Order Form below to reserve teaching units and videotapes/DVDs from Idaho Power on a free-of-charge loan basis.

Loan Library: Units For Teachers


Units will be mailed to you at your school through UPS. We will make arrangements for UPS to automatically pick up the unit two weeks after your scheduled use date. Please leave existing shipping labels in place for UPS verification. Secure package with sturdy tape, if required, and return to your school's designated parcel pick-up area.

Videos and DVDs will be mailed to you at your school through the U.S. Postal Service. We will provide you a return postage paid label. The returning Video/Film/DVD must be postmarked within two working days of your scheduled date. Please return videos and teaching units to the Loan Library by the scheduled due date so that we can maintain our schedule and keep our commitments to other teachers. Play it Safe with Electricity

This electrical safety unit features a Disney video that acquaints students with basic concepts of electrical safety inside and outside the home. The unit includes a teacher's guide and student handouts. Approximate time for teaching the unit: 45–60 minutes. (Available for loan.)

 

When You're Home Alone

In this video teaching unit, "Charger the Power Dog" teaches children safety awareness for when they are home alone. Through the use of a video, active participation games, and 28 black line masters, electrical and fire safety, emergencies, nutrition, self-awareness, crime, and substance abuse are addressed. Individual topics can be offered throughout the year. Each independent topic takes approximately 15–30 minutes. (This teaching unit is yours to keep!)

 

Birds of Prey Trunk

This activity-packed trunk contains something for all ages, however some materials may be too advanced for younger audiences. The unit includes instructional activities, CD-ROMs, videos, posters, supplemental books, egg and track replicas, a glossary, a life-sized eagle wing span puzzle, a full-sized nesting platform pattern, and much more. Silver Wires, Golden Wings

This video captures the beauty of the eagle against the backdrop of the rugged mountains of the American West. It chronicles the persistent efforts of a group of researchers who are dedicated to preventing electrocution of eagles.
