- Brownlee Dam is on the Snake River, 13 miles upstream of Oxbow, Ore., and about 20 miles northwest of Cambridge, Idaho, or river mile 285. It is the furthest upstream of the three-dam
Hells Canyon Complex on the Snake River.

- Brownlee Reservoir is 58 miles long, the longest reservoir on the Snake River. At full pool, Brownlee Reservoir elevation is 2,077 feet above sea level. This reservoir stores 1.42 million acre-feet of water. Of this amount, 975,000 acre-feet are available for power generation.
- The powerhouse contains four, 90.1 megawatt (MW) generators and one, 225-megawatts (MW) generator with a combined capacity of generating 3.3 million megawatt hours (MWh) of electricity, or enough energy to meet the electrical needs of more than 250,000 residential
customers.
- Brownlee's total nameplate capacity is 585.4 MW.
- Of the five units generating power at Brownlee, Unit No. 5 is the largest in Idaho Power's hydropower system and is rated at 225,000 kilowatts, or 225 MW. It measures 51 feet in diameter. The water wheel is 22 feet in diameter and weighs 154 tons.
