Named after Ed Woodhead,  chief construction engineer of the nearby Brownlee Power Plant, award-winning Woodhead Park is located on the Idaho side of Brownlee Reservoir, just a few miles upstream of the dam. Originally constructed in 1959, Woodhead Park underwent a remodel and expansion in 1995 to enhance camping, parking and boating facilities.

Woodhead Park is the largest Idaho Power park in the Hells Canyon area covering 65 acres. Woodhead offers 124 recreational vehicle (RV) sites with electricity, water, picnic tables, and fire rings. It has 15 tent sites with water, picnic tables, and fire rings, and several day-use picnic areas, two of which are covered. Link to a printable Woodhead Park map (PDF, 322Kb). Woodhead has restrooms and shower facilities accessible to persons with disabilities, one RV dump station, two boat ramps, and overnight truck and boat trailer parking. Public pay phones are located near the restrooms. For driving directions, click here.
