C.J. Strike Dam is approximately 35 miles upriver of Swan Falls Dam near the community of Grandview in Elmore and Owyhee counties. Idaho Power operates four campgrounds and associated facilities providing access to the Snake River for boating, fishing, picnicking and waterfowl and upland game bird hunting. All Idaho Power campsites are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Here is the latest information about how construction is affecting different facilities at C.J. Strike.

North Park (PDF, 264KB)
Earth work has begun and will continue intermittently for the next four months. The boat ramp will remain open, but expect delays when launching and retrieving boats. Please be mindful of working equipment and park vehicles clear of the machinery.
Scout Park (PDF, 237KB)
No impact to users through August. Site work to begin in September.
Locust Park (PDF, 233KB)
No impact to users through August. Site work to begin in September.
Cottonwood Park (PDF, 168KB)
Cottonwood Park will be closed August and September (including the boat ramp). When the park reopens in late September, the marina next to the boat ramp will remain closed into the winter.
Loveridge Bridge (PDF, 145KB)
No impact to users through July. Site work scheduled to begin in August.

- North Park occupies 18 acres on the northwest corner of the main reservoir
- Scout Park provides visitors with 10 acres of recreational opportunities and is located at the base of the dam
- Locust Park includes 3 acres of turf and trees and is located across the road from Scout Park
- Cottonwood Park, is a 12‑acre campground located at the Bruneau Arm on the south-side of the reservoir
All parks have restroom facilities or vault toilets; some areas have water, but no electric hookups are available. Numerous boat launches provide access to the reservoir.
Visitors may camp using either tents or RV’s in developed campgrounds or undeveloped areas near the reservoir. Idaho Power limits stays at all of its developed campgrounds and lands to 14 consecutive days. Please obey all posted campground rules and remember to keep all motorized vehicles within the posted speed limit.
Various other recreation areas near the reservoir are managed by the Idaho Department of Fish and Game, Bureau of Land Management or the United States Air Force.
