Lansing Substation
The Treasure Valley continues to experience steady growth, from Boise to the Caldwell area and beyond. This growth has resulted in significant increases in electricity usage within this area, which is straining Idaho Power’s existing electric service facilities.

In order to continue to provide reliable electric service to our customers, and to meet existing and future electrical capacity needs, Idaho Power is requesting a Conditional Use Permit through Canyon County to expand the size of the yard at our Lansing Substation, located on the northeast corner of Idaho 44 and Lansing Lane. The proposal includes moving the fence 75 feet to the east.

Currently the substation site is not landscaped. Idaho Power proposes to landscape around the perimeter of the substation and replace the existing chain link fence with one that has privacy slats.
