1. What is included in the program?
Idaho Power customers who purchase a new ENERGY STAR manufactured home will be eligible for a $500 rebate. In addition, the sales consultant who sells the home will be eligible for a $100 sales bonus.

2. Why is Idaho Power sponsoring this program?
Buying an energy-efficient new home is simpler and more affordable than retrofitting an existing home. However, there are up-front costs affiliated with choosing a more efficient home. Idaho Power wants to help customers with these costs and allow them to reap the long-term benefit of lower electric bills. In addition, Idaho Power wants to encourage sales consultants to discuss energy efficiency with their customers.

3. Who is eligible for this program?
Any customer who signs a sales agreement for a new, all- electric ENERGY STAR home and who establishes an Idaho Power residential account to serve that home is eligible to apply for a rebate. Sales of used homes or indirect sales of new homes are not eligible for this program.

4. How is an ENERGY STAR home different from a regular home?
An ENERGY STAR home has more insulation in the ceiling, walls and floors, better windows and doors, a tighter duct system and a specially designed ventilation system. This improves the comfort of the home, the affordability of the homeowner’s electricity bills and the indoor air quality of the home. Each ENERGY STAR home is built to specifications that are more efficient than the current federal guidelines. In addition, a representative from the Northwest Energy Efficient Manufactured (NEEM) Home Program inspects each new ENERGY STAR home made by a participating manufacturer.

7. Where does a customer sign up for the program?
Customers will need to provide information to their sales consultant who, in turn, will submit the appropriate paperwork to Idaho Power. All rebate requests must be submitted by the dealer and must include a copy of the sales agreement and the address where the home is to be sited. Direct applications from the customer will not be accepted.

8. When will checks arrive?

Eligible customers and sales consultants will receive their rebate/bonus checks approximately 6 to 8 weeks after the application is received from the sales consultant and/or after the home is sited and connected to an Idaho Power residential account.
