From American Falls head north. There is good access to the area via Interstate 86 and Idaho 39. Idaho 39 straddles the top of the reservoir's nine-story-high dam for more than a half mile.

To C.J. Strike Reservoir

From Boise, go east on Interstate 84 toward Mountain Home, Idaho. Take Exit 95 and head south on Idaho 67 about 30 miles, toward Grand View, Idaho, to the C.J. Strike Dam area. Follow the Sportsmen's Access signs to the dam.

To reach the Wildlife Management Area on the upstream end of the reservoir, take Idaho 51 south from Mountain Home about 15 miles to the Snake River at Loveridge Bridge. Go west another 2.5 miles on Idaho 78 to the Wildlife Management Headquarters and 12 miles to the town of Grand View.

Strike Dam Road accesses project facilities from the north side of the Snake River. River Road passes through the area just downstream of the dam on the south side of the Snake River.
