Wildlife Management Area (WMA)

Idaho Power owns and manages more than 925 acres of property in the Hagerman Valley for wildlife habitat. These properties are part of Idaho Power's mitigation program helping to offset impacts of the ongoing Mid-Snake hydroelectric facilities operations.









Banbury Springs Information and Map

Wildlife viewing, upland and waterfowl hunting, fishing and picnicking are available.

Day-use only, no overnight camping. Area behind the walk-through is designated foot access only and is accessible by walking the road down into the canyon. The walk from the parking area to Banbury Springs/Morgan Lake is relatively strenuous. Property boundaries are marked with Idaho Power boundary marker signs.

Visitors should adhere to all federal, state, and county rules and regulations. Hunting and fishing regulations are determined by the Idaho Department of Fish and Game. A Gooding County ordinance prohibits use of firearms other than a shotgun anywhere within the Banbury Springs day-use area, including shooting from the canyon rim.

Note: The springs are surrounded by poison ivy and stinging nettle. Please stay out of the springs to protect other sensitive species. Learn more about Banbury Springs.

Tuana Gulch Information and Map

Wildlife viewing, upland and waterfowl bird hunting and fishing opportunities are available.

Visitors can park along the canal road to access day-use only areas. Overnight camping is prohibited. Areas behind the walk-overs are designated foot access only.

Bancroft Springs Information and Map

This area offers opportunities for fishing on the Snake River and limited upland bird hunting.

An Idaho Power access road provides vehicle access to a boat ramp on the Snake River.

Fenced areas are accessible using walk-overs and walk-through stiles and are designated foot access only.

Hunting and fishing regulations are determined by the Idaho Department of Fish and Game. Visitors should adhere to all federal, state, and county rules and regulations.

 

No overnight camping except in the graveled area at the boat ramp. Learn more about Bancroft Springs.
