10-Year Emissions
CO2 Emissions From Idaho Power-Owned Generation
This chart shows Idaho Power's historic emissions in millions of tons from Idaho Power-owned generation.
Idaho Power has been, is, and will continue to be a responsible environmental steward. As with all of our decisions, environmental decisions are evaluated and balanced with consideration of the impact of those decisions on cost to customers and our ability to reliably serve our customers.
Learn how Idaho Power compares in terms of total carbon emissions to the 100 largest electricity producers in the U.S. and emissions per megawatt hours produced.
Please note: Because of our significant hydroelectric generation resources, our emissions decrease in high water years like 2006.
The data in this chart for the industry average comes from the 2010 air emissions report of the 100 largest electric power producers in the U.S., based on 2008 generation and emissions. The report uses publicly reported data and is the product of a collaborative effort among Ceres, the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC), Public Service Enterprise Group (PSEG), and PG&E Corporation.
