CO2 Intensity Reduction Goal

On Sept. 17, 2009, Idaho Power established a goal to reduce its resource portfolio's average CO2 emission intensity for 2010 through 2013 to a level of 10 to 15 percent below its 2005 CO2 emission intensity of 1,194 lbs CO2/megawatt-hour (MWh).

Get the specifics about the goal from IDACORP, Inc.'s 8-K issued Sept. 17, 2009.

The following chart tracks Idaho Power's progress toward meeting its CO2 intensity reduction goal over the 2010-2013 time period.

The current year-to-date CO2 emission intensity will be updated monthly on a provisional basis and trued up to actuals on an annual basis.

The chart's far right bar illustrates the cumulative 2010-2013 average CO2 intensity, which is targeted to be 10 to 15 percent below Idaho Power's 2005 level of 1,194 lbs CO2 per megawatt-hour by the end of 2013.

At present the following CO2 emission intensity chart only includes emissions and generation from Idaho Power-owned generation resources. If Idaho Power has sold any Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs), the renewable generation creating those RECs is not included in this CO2 intensity calculation.
