Idaho Power Crews Rescue Cat from Power Pole

Fritz the cat spent a couple chilly nights on top of a power pole in Nampa but, thanks to Idaho Power crews, he’s safely back on the ground and resting comfortably at home with his owners.

Our crews arrived on the scene at approximately 11:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Working from a “bucket” truck, workers de-energized the lines, then went high into the sky to rescue Fritz. However, Fritz made his way even higher up the pole, and a larger truck had to be brought in. At approximately 2 p.m., our crews successfully retrieved Fritz from the pole and he was reunited with his owners.

Online Maps Available for Idaho Power Habitat Lands

In addition to our popular parks, Idaho Power manages more than 30,000 acres of wildlife habitat lands in the Hells Canyon, C.J. Strike and Hagerman areas.

Now, people who want to visit those areas can download and print maps from our website that include driving directions and descriptions of the limited amenities available at these locations. Due to the remote nature of many of these sites, it’s important that visitors know ahead of time exactly how to get there and whether they will need to access the lands on foot, horseback, four-wheel drive vehicle or ATV.

Maps and additional information about these habitat lands, as well as information on our parks and other recreational facilities is available at www.idahopower.com/ourenvironment.
