Hells Canyon Dam Road Closures Begin Oct. 8
BOISE, IDAHO -- The road across Hells Canyon Dam will be closed between 8 a.m. (Mountain Time) and noon, and from 1 p.m. until dark on the following dates while Idaho Power crews complete necessary maintenance on the switchyard below the dam:
• Oct. 8-17
• Nov. 10-21
• Nov. 24-Dec. 13
The closure dates are based on the currently available repair schedule. They are subject to change depending on weather delays and other potential issues.
Hells Canyon Dam is the third and final project in the Hells Canyon Complex. It began generating electricity in 1967 and has a generating capacity of 391,500 kilowatts.
