This Week's Focus: Environmental Stewardship
Did you know Idaho Power owns and cares for numerous parks and recreational facilities located throughout the Snake River area from American Falls to Hells Canyon?
The final week of Energy Awareness Month starts Oct. 26 and the topic is Your Environment is Our Environment. The theme for this week highlights Idaho Power’s environmental stewardship and how we balance what’s required of our company as part of our hydroelectric facility mitigation efforts with what’s needed to keep the environment healthy and prosperous.
Visit www.idahopower.com/energyawareness and click on “Your Environment is Our Environment” to check out details on our parks and other environmental work we’re doing. You’ll find information on a wide variety of topics, including our fish conservation program, archaeology and cultural resource studies, avian protection program and habitat management properties. All of the work we do with the environment—including plant, aquatic and wildlife endeavors—is simply business as usual for Idaho Power.
Watch for an upcoming joint press release from Idaho Power and Idaho Department Fish and Game with details on the upcoming steelhead release into the Boise River. The release is planned for approximately Oct. 29. This is the largest release of steelhead in the program’s history and Idaho anglers are sure to be pleased.
