See ya later, refrigerator®
Chances are, the older refrigerator or freezer in your basement or garage is running up your utility bill by as much as $100 a year. Recycle it and use energy wisely.
With See ya later, refrigerator®, Idaho Power will pay you $30 to remove your old unit. Our program partner, JACO Environmental, will pick up the unit for free from your home. Up to 95 percent of components are reused or recycled, keeping them out of the landfill and the environment.
Who Is Eligible?
See ya later, refrigerator® is offered to Idaho Power residential customers. The refrigerator or stand-alone freezer must be in working condition and must be plugged in at time of pickup.
Refrigerator and freezer units must be between 10 and 30 cubic feet using inside measurements. Please make sure the unit is empty at time of pickup and designate a clear access path. Additional program terms and conditions apply.
Beginning Nov. 15, 2013, this service may not be available in all areas during winter months due to road conditions. Please check our listing for the latest information. Service will resume April 1, 2014 for these areas. For all other areas, service is available weather permitting.
How Do I Participate?
Beginning Nov. 15, 2013, service to mountainous areas will be limited due to variable winter road conditions. To schedule a free pickup, or get a list of affected areas and the last pickup date for this fall/winter sign up online, or call toll free 1-866-899-5539. Service to these areas will resume after April 1, 2014.
Recycle Your Spare and Help Project Share
Idaho Power offers See ya later, refrigerator® participants the opportunity to help those in need.
After recycling an older refrigerator, customers can donate their $30 incentive to Project Share.
Project Share is a partnership between Idaho Power and The Salvation Army that provides energy assistance to individuals and families. Funds can be used to pay for heating fuels, energy bills or fix broken furnaces, helping keep homes warm in the winter and cool through the summer.
Every penny of your donation is forwarded to The Salvation Army.
