1. What is the amount of the incentive?

The incentive is $0.15 per-square-foot of professionally installed attic insulation.

2. Do I pay for the insulation installation before or after I receive the Idaho Power incentive?

You will pay the insulation contractor, up front, upon completion of the installation.

3. How do I receive my incentive?

a. Have insulation installed and pay the contractor the full invoice amount upon job completion. Incentives are paid only for work done June 1, 2009, or thereafter.

b. Make sure the contractor gives you an itemized receipt/invoice and a completed Home Improvement Program – Attic Insulation Field Worksheet.

c. Completely fill out the Home Improvement Program incentive application. Incomplete forms may be delayed.

d. Make a copy of the completed incentive application, itemized contractor receipt/invoice and Home Improvement Program – Attic Insulation Field Worksheet for your records.

e. Mail the completed incentive application, itemized contractor receipt/invoice and Home Improvement Program – Attic Insulation Field Worksheet to Idaho Power at:

f. You will receive your incentive check within 6-8 weeks.

4. Can I receive this incentive for insulating my walls and crawlspace?

No, this incentive is for attic insulation only.

5. Can I receive this incentive for insulating the attic space over my garage or other unconditioned spaces?

No. Attic space over unconditioned spaces, such as garages, will not qualify for this program.

6. Can I receive this incentive for the home I am currently building?

No, this incentive is for existing homes only.

7. Can I receive this incentive for adding insulation to my manufactured home?

No, this incentive is for site-built homes only.

8. Can I install the insulation myself and still receive the incentive?

No, the insulation must be professionally installed by an insulation contractor.

9. Can any insulation company install my insulation?

Yes, but we recommend you call at least two insulation contractors and request a bid for attic insulation.

10. Can I receive a free estimate before participating in the program?

Most contractors will come to your home and give you a free job estimate; however that will vary by contractor—be sure to ask first.

11. Do I need a minimum amount of existing insulation to qualify for an insulation incentive?

R-40 or less of existing insulation will qualify for the Home Improvement Program.

12. What is the maximum amount of insulation that Idaho Power will pay an incentive?

The Home Improvement Program will pay an incentive for professionally installed insulation up to R-50.

13. When will I receive my incentive?

Within 6-8 weeks of the time you send in the Idaho Power incentive application, Home Improvement Program-Attic Insulation Field Worksheet and insulation contractor receipt.

14. Will my incentive be a credit to my Idaho Power bill?

You will be mailed an incentive check. Incentives will not be credited to your Idaho Power account.

15. How long do I have to send in my incentive application form and contractor’s receipt to claim my incentive?

Idaho Power must receive your completed incentive application, itemized contractor receipt/invoice and Home Improvement Program – Attic Insulation Field Worksheet within 90 days of the date of installation.
