Local Energy Efficiency Funds
In commitment to a healthy environment and the communities we live and work in, Idaho Power administers grants that support energy efficiency within the community. We encourage customers in our Idaho service area to apply for funding for short-term projects and activities.
Eligibility
Eligible projects include demonstration, research, and other direct kilowatt or kilowatt-hour savings projects that are not included in larger energy efficiency programs.
Projects for training, education or promotion that are not part of a larger program are also eligible.
Criteria
Receive financial support by demonstrating these three criteria:
- Be cost-effective for Idaho Power’s electrical system.
- Advance Idaho Power’s energy efficiency efforts.
- Use proven technology.
Additional considerations for the projects include:
- The number of customers benefiting.
- The customer segment served.
- The geographic reach of the project.
Apply for Funds
Apply by completing a Local Energy Efficiency Fund Application. Individual or organizational requests may not exceed $10,000. Requests are reviewed upon receipt and subject to approval by Idaho Power.
Funding for these grants comes from the Conservation Charge collected monthly from Idaho customers as approved by the Idaho Public Utilities Commission.
