A/C Cool Credit Program

Idaho Power has made a request to the Idaho and Oregon public utility commissions to temporarily suspend the A/C Cool Credit program for the 2013 season. If approved Idaho Power will work with program stakeholders to determine a course of action for the future. More information to follow later this spring.
During hot summer afternoons, air conditioners run full blast while farmers pump water to their fields. The result is an ever-growing need for power at very specific peak times.
Reducing the amount of energy used for air conditioning during these peak times helps meet our power needs while still ensuring the comfort of our customers.

In 2013, based on our forecasting and planning processes, Idaho Power does not foresee a need for this program, which helps during periods of peak use. This potential suspension will allow the Company to work with all stakeholders to identify the best long-term solutions (beyond 2013) for these programs. Idaho Power is committed to making prudent, thoughtful decisions on how it manages programs and utilizes customer funds. To that end, the Company believes it is prudent to avoid the expenses associated with the programs for 2013.
If you are a program participant no action is necessary at this time.
