This incentive program for commercial building and industrial facility energy-saving retrofits in Idaho is designed to be easy to use. Through Easy Upgrades you can save energy, earn incentives, and improve your bottom line. It’s that easy!

There is only one Application (PDF) form to complete. Prior to project completion the form is considered a “preliminary stage” application, and this should be indicated by checking the “Pre-App” check-box at the top of the application. After completion, the form is considered a “final stage” application and this should be indicated by checking the “Final App” check-box at the top of the application.

How to Apply for your Easy Upgrades Incentive

1. Assess your energy-saving opportunities.
   Use our online Lighting Calculator for simple lighting project savings estimates.
   For more precise estimates of savings and incentives, your equipment supplier, contractor or Idaho Power Customer Representative can help.
   
   
2. Complete the Application (PDF) form and relevant worksheet(s) describing the applicant, location and planned scope of the project before project completion. Check the “Pre-App” box at the top of the application and submit it to Idaho Power*.
   
   

   Note: You must document the product expenses for each measure installed. This information is required in the final stage application.

   
   
3. Your application will be reviewed, assigned a project number and the applicant will be notified to proceed with the project. The final stage application and other required materials must be received within 90 days of the acceptance of your preliminary stage application.
   
   

   Note:Projects earning an incentive of $1,000 or less may skip the preliminary stage application requirement and complete the project before submitting the final stage application. All other projects require pre-approval from Idaho Power prior to payment.

4. Idaho Power reserves the right to inspect your project. A limited number of inspections are anticipated. They may be done prior to the installation, while the work is underway, or after the new equipment is installed. Site selection will be based on the size and complexity of the proposed project. If selected, Idaho Power will provide advance notice and work around your schedule.
   
   
5. When your project is finished, complete and sign a final stage Application (PDF) form and check the “Final App” box at the top. Submit this form with the appropriate worksheet(s), project invoices, specification sheets and other required information to verify that qualifying energy efficiency measures were installed*.
   
   
6. Idaho Power will review documentation and approve payment. Applicants should receive their Idaho Power incentive checks within 30 days after all project materials are received.

* The Application (PDF) form can be saved and e-mailed to us or, if you prefer, you can print out and complete your application by hand and then fax or mail the completed form to us. Necessary supporting materials should be faxed, e-mailed or mailed with the final stage Application.
