Ken Petersen

Corporate Controller and Chief Accounting Officer, IDACORP, Inc. and Idaho Power

Ken Petersen was promoted to an executive officer for IDACORP, Inc. and Idaho Power as corporate controller and chief accounting officer in May 2010.

Petersen has more than 20 years experience in a number of financial, operational and strategic roles within both small and large organizations.

He began his career at Idaho Power in November 1998 as Finance team leader. He has also served the company in a number of senior management roles, most recently as corporate controller for IDACORP, Inc. and Idaho Power.

Prior to joining Idaho Power, Petersen worked for several well-known Idaho companies, including Blue Cross of Idaho and Trus Joist.

Petersen is a licensed CPA and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Computer Information Systems from Boise State University. He also earned his MBA from Boise State, graduating with honors. Additionally, he is a graduate of the University of Idaho’s Public Utility Executive course and Boise State’s Management and Supervisory Series.
