Our Energy Future
The Path Forward
Every day we partner with our customers, owners, employees and communities on challenging issues to balance tough decisions with our commitment to provide a secure, safe, reliable energy future for all. Our three-part strategy provides a clear path forward for us.
Electricity is the oxygen of our economy and our society.
Our homes, schools, farms, businesses and communities need it. It powers most aspects of our everyday lives.
Our modern culture has a seemingly insatiable appetite for power. We must find new ways to meet the demand. Otherwise the reliability—reliability each of us counts on every day—is jeopardized.
Meeting Increasing Demand
To meet increasing demand, we must employ smarter consumption practices and responsibly build new generation facilities.
As we promote energy efficiency and strive to preserve the capability of existing resources, we must also add resources and transmission facilities to support increased economic activity.
We cannot serve the growth that will facilitate new jobs and prosperity in our communities without the necessary electrical infrastructure and the reliability that infrastructure provides.
Strategic And Prudent Growth
All growth is not equal. We need to work together to attract businesses that make sense for our communities.
We must find businesses and industries that contribute to the economy without placing disproportionate demands on the electric grid, other vital support systems or the environment.
