Electricity Delivered to Customers
As our customer you're entitled to know about the energy we're delivering to you, that it includes both electricity generated by Idaho Power-owned facilities and energy purchased from others.
Retail customers are those customers for whom we deliver electricity within our service area in Idaho and Oregon. Because Idaho Power also sells electricity to other utilities for resale, not all electricity purchased or generated by Idaho Power is delivered to our retail customers.
Electricity produced by resources typically considered to be renewable such as wind, biomass or geothermal is not counted as renewable energy delivered to customers in a given year, unless Idaho Power holds and retires an equivalent number Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) in that year. Learn more about how RECs work.
Energy for which Idaho Power holds and retires an equivalent number of RECs will be counted as renewable energy delivered to customers in the year the RECs are retired.
